As a member of our dietary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food and meals in accordance with planned menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, recipes, portion and temperature control procedures and facility policies. Additional duty areas for the dietary team will also consist of developing and maintaining a positive, productive, and growth-oriented living and working environment for residents, and their families. Actively participate in collaborative approaches to provide quality service to each resident while maintaining QLI standards with respect to producing and serving quality food.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Review menus prior to preparation of food and prepare all foods necessary for regular and special diets
- Review and process diet changes and ensure menus are maintained and followed in accordance with established procedures
- Provide food preferences to residents/clients as they are made known
- Verify that food and supplies are available for the next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents and incidents
- Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes and utensils
- Adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety and infection control policies and procedures
- Assist the Coordinator of Nutrition Services to guide activities of the direct care team members as related to food preparation, serving and clean up
- Assist in preparing and serving meals to residents, ensuring that dietary guidelines and nutritional needs are met
- Store foods and supplies properly
- Attend orientation and in services as required by the state
- Attend and participate in service training, and education activities
- Assist in orientation and training other staff team members
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- Must be 18 years or older (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year related experience (required)
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- Be knowledgeable of state and federal regulatory requirements
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate with professionalism and respect

- Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold environments
- Must be able to stand for 6 hours per shift
- Must be able to walk for 6 hours per shift
- Must be able to bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
Vaccination Requirements: Annual flu vaccine is required during flu season. If needed, we will provide vaccination at QLI, free of charge.
Schedule:
- Full-time
- Four-weekday work week (10:30 AM to 6:30 PM) with every other weekend rotation schedule
