The Finance Organization
As part of the Finance organization, you will be in a unique position to impact the future direction the company takes. With approximately 38,000 customers worldwide you will have access to a rich user community to help inform your decisions. Our highly collaborative environment means you will be working with a diverse group of talented people continuously innovating and improving. Qlik has transitioned to a Subscription and SaaS business, and as the Finance Intern, you will support management with focusing on analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
This position will have an active role in monthly reporting and analysis, ad hoc reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This position will be critical to our monthly board and management reporting, business reviews, and annual / multi-year planning.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing a monthly global financial forecast
- Perform actuals vs. budget and forecast analysis
- Support month-end close and preparation of regular operation reports
- Reviews and audits data and information to ensure accuracy
- Maintain budget and forecast information in Adaptive
- Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
- Recommends process improvements to drive automation, efficiency, and accuracy
- Supports all presentations, reporting, and analysis for monthly Board of Director meetings
Budget, Monthly Forecasts, & Financial Modeling
- Assist in preparing monthly forecasts for revenue, expense and other KPIs
- Supports the budget and forecast process by providing required reporting, forecasting, and insights to the long-term financial model
- Works closely with Culture & Talent maintain, review and validate monthly forecasting of the Headcount outlook for forecasting, budgeting, and multi-year planning
Process & System Improvements
- Utilizes Adaptive to drive forecasting, reporting and analysis, identifying and implementing changes to drive automation and efficiency
- Development of documentation and training around Adaptive and Headcount forecasting and reporting
- Improves all processes through automation and elimination of nonvalue-added activities
Business Partnering
- Be a strategic business partner by providing analytical support and consultation on key decisions
- Partner closely with analysts on our Corporate FP&A team to help prioritize objectives across the team and provide inputs for key deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or another related business discipline
- 0 – 2 years of the relevant course or previous internship experience in Finance or Finance-related specialties, cross-functional projects.
- Knowledge of financial reporting/analytical skills gained through work experience
- Experience building and maintaining complex financial models
- Ability to organize, summarize, and validate large data sets across multiple systems
- Knowledge of Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, QlikView/QlikSense or similar tools
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), preferably Excel power user
- Strong communication skills
