What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Specialist position at QTS Data Centers?
The Development Specialist is responsible for the management, analysis, and reporting of critical development project information for active and future operations. They are responsible for maintaining full visibility into capital expenditure and key project metrics, as well as promoting improvements to be implemented across the company construction project portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to manage data input/collection processes within E-Builder tool (PMIS software system).
- Manage the flow of critical project information between internal systems and ensure accuracy for key reporting metrics.
- Create and review purchase orders, invoices, change orders and other project financial data as necessary within PMIS system and additional software systems
- Develop new processes and documentation within E-Builder to continually improve the organization’s approach to project management.
- Work closely with Procurement team, Program Managers, and external vendors to track key project assets and update any changes within PMIS system.
- Utilize custom reporting features in E-Builder to generate advanced views on project budgets, invoice tracking, and vendor management.
- Review and resolve basic import errors generated by daily exceptions reporting
- Maintain a high level understanding of capital approval and project creation processes, as well as apply industry-leading practices to improve overall business performance.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business management, engineering, science, mathematics or finance.
- 1-2 years of construction management exposure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with E-Builder or project management software
- Experience working in data center construction
