Position: Machine Operator – Rolls & Saws
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $18-19/hour
Shift: 1st (6am-2:30pm)

Position Summary:
Under immediate to moderate supervision, the Machine Operator operates fabricating machines such as fabrication roller, hydraulic rolls, automated band saws, metal punch machine, and other machinery as required, that cut, shape and bend metal plates to produce an array of products.
\n- Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Positions stops or guides to specified length as indicated by blueprints, scale, rule, or template.
- Maintains fabricating equipment and adjusts prepare equipment for safe and efficient operation.
- Moves parts and/or work pieces manually, by hoist or forklift and secures parts using clamps, braces, etc. prior to machine operation.
- Maintains production quantities, efficiencies and quality of parts fabricated.
- Positive team-based attitude and a willingness to cross train on machinery in the fabrication department.
- Ability to adhere to company safety expectations and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to use and read a tape measure, protractor, and various other measuring tools.
- Ability to read and understand English
- Capable of performing standard measurements.

- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
- Minimum of 1 – 3 years of previous experience operating heavy production/fabrication machinery. Years of service will vary depending upon level of position. Years listed are for entry level (Grade 1)
- Experience with JD Edwards helpful
- Work performed in a loud manufacturing environment.
