Plant Accountant / Benefits Specialist

Qualified Staffing is looking for a Plant Accountant/Benefits Specialist to place with one of their manufacturing clients. The position would be offered on a permanent bases and will report directly to the company Controller.
As the Plant Accountant would be best suited for an organized and self-driven accounting professionals that are seeking a role with a deadline-driven environment and minimal supervision. In addition, you will be responsible for a full cycle of A/P and A/R as well as data entry, cash applications, coding, light journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
As the Benefits Specialist, your will assist in the day-to-day administration of a Self-Insured Insurance Benefits program. This includes benefit programs such as health and dental insurance, life insurance, disability benefits, and other deductions. This includes enrolling, terminating and modifying employee benefit coverage as necessary and entering these items into the payroll and benefits systems. Serves as first line of contact for employees regarding benefit questions or requirements.
Other responsibilities:
- Maintains files, forms and database information associated with personnel changes, salaries, benefits and general information.
- Coordinates annual benefit fair and open enrollment.
- Handles requests for verification of mortgage, employment, benefits, and other employment information
- Performs new employee orientation explaining payroll and benefits.
- Accurately process new employee paperwork and follow through to ensure all benefits are being reflected properly.
- Maintain accurate files, forms and database information associated with personnel, benefits, salaries and general information.
- Work with outside Insurance Providers
Skills Needed for Position:
Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills with great attention to detail.
Proficient with MS Office and a good knowledge of ERP systems. Experience with the Sage Accounting Package, Paylocity Payroll a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Required Software - Proficient with Excel a must
8 am – 5pm, Monday – Friday with an hour for lunch
Salary Range is $40,000 - $45,000
