We are currently looking for a Pickup/Delivery Driver in our Smithfield location:

Basic Functions And Responsibilities

  • Deliver machines and products to customers or other Quality Equipment locations in a safe & timely manner.
  • Ensure proper tie down and transport of equipment without damage.
  • Timely delivery and pick up of equipment for customers and for dealership.
  • Must be able to operate and drive company specific equipment, vehicles, and all other products sold by the dealership.
  • Assist customers in the safe and proper usage of equipment and recommended additional equipment and supplies to help them perform each task more efficiently.
  • Follow procedures for company credit card usage for gas and maintenance.
  • Follow safety procedures for loading and unloading of equipment.
  • Assist in unloading of freight trucks, mowers, and other equipment.
  • Wash and prep equipment for in-shop service work or return to customer.
  • Assist in cleaning and washing company vehicles as necessary.
  • Assist technicians on repair jobs when assistance is needed/delivering parts to field.
  • Assist in transfer of large parts between locations including safes to customers if necessary.
  • Coordinate prep of envirocrates, pallets, planter stands, etc. for return to John Deere.
  • Assist service writer with parts procurement for technicians as needed.
  • Must adhere to motor vehicle safety rules and company cell phone policy.
  • Any other tasks as requested by supervisor.

Experience, Skills, And Knowledge Requirements

  • Must be effective at time management.
  • Basic parts and machinery knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Must maintain insurable driving record with the State.
  • Must be able to back truck/trailer combination at acceptable levels.
  • Have a basic understanding of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations.

Must be able to communicate effectively and positively with customers & dealership personnel as an ambassador for the dealership.

Physical Demands:

  • Noise Levels: High.
  • Weight Requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Mobility: Squatting, bending, climbing, lifting, reaching, twisting, standing and sitting for long durations.
  • Visual: Working with PC, manuals, and close detailed work.
  • Driving: Daily – short and long distances
  • Work Environment: Exposure to extreme weather, fumes, airborne particles and moving mechanical parts.
  • Dexterity: Ability to grasp and manipulate tools and parts.
