Long Distance Coordinator
Quality Services Moving is a veteran-owned relocation company headquartered in Lorton, VA seeking an Long Distance Coordinator to support local and interstate moving operations. As our Long Distance Coordinator, you will support planning and scheduling operational activities to fully utilize fleet capacity for optimum efficiency and profitability. Additional responsibilities for this position include the following:
· Communicates shipment status both verbally and in writing to shippers, drivers, and carriers
· Receives shipment bookings and performs data entry to ensure jobs are appropriately booked, scheduled, maintained, and updated
· Prepares shipment paperwork for timely dispatch of servicing drivers and crews
· Schedules and dispatches personnel to perform assigned work, tracks and maintains accountability of crews, vehicles, equipment and materials
· Maintains communications with drivers and crews regarding job status, customer satisfaction, payment for services rendered, and required paperwork
- Contacts and arranges supplemental labor needs for drivers
· Upholds and enforces company standards and policies
· Actively seeks shipments and backhaul opportunities as necessary to ensure fleet is continually operating at peak capacity
· Develops and maintains relationships with business partners and drivers to facilitate regular work and operational expansion
· Calculates and communicates charges due, collects payment, and records money received
· Conducts pre and post job vehicle checks to ensure truck is sufficiently equipped with supplies and materials, clean, and undamaged
Requirements:
· 1 years of Logistics-related/Transportation course work, military experience, or equivalent work-related experience (prior HHG industry experience is a plus but is not required)
· Strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
· Exceptional quick-thinking, problem-solving, follow-through, leadership, and motivational abilities
· A positive, service-oriented attitude with strong multi-tasking, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
· Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office applications, Internet Explorer, Windows, etc.
· Strong attention to detail and task follow through is a must!
