Systems Analyst III

Job Description

This role is primarily responsible for gathering business requirements, conducting needs assessments, and developing functional specifications to ensure that the company’s Laboratory Information System (LIS) continues to meet business needs. A significant but smaller part of the role is solving problems and answering questions submitted by internal LIS users.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as senior liaison between development teams and internal users.
• Leads requirements gathering and documentation for system enhancements
• Communicates requirements to the development teams
• Leads quality testing activities for LIS enhancements and implementations
• Assists quality assurance teams and users in testing processes to ensure functionality and user acceptance.
• Conducts research to understand, explain and resolve system issues.
• Communicates updates to users that have been or may be affected by a problem.
• Follows up with users after problems have been resolved.
• Ensures response times are quick and effective to appropriately resolve requests.
• Refers the most complex unresolved issues to the LIS vendor

Experience:

• 2 years of Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or Quality Analyst experience required
• Pathology Industry preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to foster teamwork.
• Decision-making skills.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify and seek needed information.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
