LOCATION: Please note that this position is remote- work from home however the preferred location will be the Southwest region of the US as this position's territory will be the Southwest Region. There will be required travel to this region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for developing and promoting a healthy and safe work environment for all employees
- Provide leadership and support to drive a positive safety culture.
- Provide work direction to Safety Specialists and Coordinators
- Assist Safety Director with the development, implementation, and monitoring of PGE safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Provide health and safety technical assistance, performing hands-on health and safety hazard analysis, compliance inspections/assessments and critical behavior observations.
- Provide support to mitigate or eliminate workplace hazards.
- Conduct incident investigations and identify root causes.
- Provide feedback to Safety and Human Performance Manager relative to job site safety compliance.
- Provide health, safety and human performance awareness and training topics to PGE employees.
- Serve as a point of contact for field employee on all Health and Safety issues, providing interpretation, guidance, on-site field support and recommended solutions to project sites.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable regulations that impact operations and work practices.
- Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; Field experience related to company services and safety considered in lieu of degree
- Five (5) to nine (9) years’ experience in one of the following industries: Transmission and Distribution, Power Generation or Energy
- Experience as a safety lead/champion
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written communication; solid presentation skills.
- Proven experience maintaining safety records and a proven track record of regulatory compliance.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Excellent communication skills, effective trainer, and coaching skills
- Self- starter, accountability and self-motivation skills required
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with Health and Safety management systems, electrical safety, ergonomics, incident investigation processes, job hazard analyses, and human performance concepts as well as experience delivering core safety programs
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other Safety Certifications is preferred but not required.
- Utility or Electrical industry experience preferred
- Fast learner with software and implementation of new software/programs
- Collaboration experience and preference in working style preferred
- Experienced at strategizing and developing programs for safety
- Effective conflict management skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Job will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel to visit a client’s office and job sites.
- When performing outside a Qualus office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by Qualus and/or Client as required.
- While performing duties of this job, would occasionally require to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects and tools.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
