The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific company projects. The Project Manager will ensure consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. The successful candidate will define and facilitate project scope, goals and deliverables. He/she will also manage assigned project resources and oversee multiple company projects bringing expertise and discipline to the position. The Project Manager will be responsible for his/her own results and for establishing and maintaining fundamental processes for the organization. This position requires 10 - 15% travel for client visits and off-site personnel. Crucial parts of this role are the ability to positively influence others to maintain consistent project management practices and for maintaining a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and facilitate the implementation of projects in accordance with project scope, deliverables, and goals
- Use positive influencing skills to set expectations and hold employees accountable for assigned tasks and milestone goals
- Define project tasks and resource requirements in the development of full-scale project plans
- Assemble, coordinate and provide direction to project staff
- Manage project budget and resource allocation
- Track project deliverables in project management software Deltek and suggest better tools or resources as appropriate
- Provide direction and support to project teams
- Maintain the highest level of Quality assurance
- Consistently monitor and report on progress of project to all stakeholders defining project progress, problems and solutions
- Complete Project evaluations and assessment of results at project close out
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Bachelor’s in Construction Management with utility experience is preferred.
- Experience working in a variety of Project Management SW such as Microsoft Project and Deltek
- Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- Applied experience managing people and projects
- Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management
- Ability to think critically and solve problems
- Strong conflict management skills and ability to negotiate business and employee issues
- Strong working knowledge of electric utilities
