Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Marshall, TX
Position Type: Full-time, Direct Hire- Onsite
Summary: Responsible for accurately recording and managing financial transactions related to the production process. This includes tracking expenses, recording income, reconciling accounts, and ensuring financial records comply with industry regulations. The bookkeeper plays a key role in maintaining organized and precise financial data to support the manufacturing facility's operational efficiency and financial decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Record Keeping and Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the manufacturing operations.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Accounts Payable:
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- Reconcile vendor statements, address discrepancies, and maintain positive vendor relationships.
Accounts Receivable:
- Generate and send customer invoices in a timely manner.
- Monitor customer accounts, follow up on overdue payments, and resolve billing discrepancies.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Provide financial data analysis to support decision-making processes.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records during closing procedures.
Audit Support:
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes that enhance financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in record-keeping and bookkeeping, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting is a plus.
