QUANTEM AVIATION IS HIRING A STATION SAFETY REPRESENATIVE AT TAMPA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (TPA)
OVERVIEW:
The Site/Station Safety Representative (safety rep) is a critical function that assists local management and employees in meeting their environmental health and safety (EHS) obligations and whose leadership supports the site's safety culture. The safety rep, who retains their regular position and title, is typically a part-time function (not a position). In performing this function, the safety rep works under the direction of the site's General Manager or Operations Manager (GM/OM), and is guided and supported by the EHS Division and fellow safety reps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Support the company Mission, Values, and Purpose (MVP)
- Monthly EHS workplace inspections
- Job hazard analysis and/or risk assessments
- Maintenance of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) library and site hazardous materials inventory
- Accident/incident/concern investigations (including completion of investigation report)
- Work refusal investigations
- Safety orientation and training of new-hires, returning employees, and contractors (if qualified to train by the corporate training department)
- Development of local processes and procedures to enhance safety and reduce risk
- Assisting EHS Division when conducting audits and investigations
- Assisting staff complete and submit EHS Occurrence reports
- Development of corrective and preventative action (CAPA) plans Responsible for conducting Inland Group of Companies and Customer-mandated practical training.
- Chairing or participating on company site safety committee
- Participating in airport health and safety community, including committees (where applicable)
- Roll-out and/or promotion of EHS policies, processes and campaigns through presentations, lunch and learn, toolbox talks, shift briefings, training sessions, etc.
- Coruson system updates/entries
- EHS Recognition Program (nominations, award presentations, etc.)
- Annual fire/emergency evacuation drills
- Fire evacuation warden duties
- Where applicable, complete fall arrest harness inspections (after qualified and only where IDS Maintenance Division does not complete these)
- Respirator fit testing, where applicable (only when qualified)
- Emergency/crisis management exercises
- Environmental initiatives applicable to the site (reduce, reuse, recycle, etc.)
- Participating on EHS Division conference calls requiring Site Safety Representatives
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Be genuine in their interest and commitment to play a leadership function in EHS
- Be prepared to invest the time provided by the company in the execution of the duties of the function
- Be a reliable participant on calls and at meetings and training designated for this function
- Have the highest standards of professionalism, and demonstrate discretion and confidentiality in matters involving sensitive and/or personal information
- Have the confidence and support of the local site GM/OM

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, CREDENTIALS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid US driver's license
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; speak clearly and hear efficiently
- Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to, in excess of 25/55 pounds
- Employees must have the ability to climb upwards of 15 foot heights
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Exposure to weather conditions prevalent at the time
- Noise level in the work environment is excessive at times
