Job summary
The Shipping Clerk is a liaison between the Customer Service Department, the Warehouse and the Carriers. The function is to process quick, accurate, and efficient paperwork The Shipping Clerk is responsible for identifying potential problems and solving them for proper shipping and receiving for our customers. In addition, the Shipping Clerk recognizes our customer&s shipping and receiving needs and coordinates activities to make them happen in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
Summary of essential job functions
- This job includes the following duties and any other as assigned by current manager:
- Organize paperwork involved with receiving or shipping customer's product to/from warehouse.
- Checks in/out trucks and containers.
- Sends loaded reports to carriers.
- Preforms Container inspections before receiving.
- Final verification on all paperwork/seals before checking out containers.
- Work closely with Customer Service Department to make sure we are satisfying our customer&s needs.
- Manage Shipping Window and driver flow for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure all paperwork is closed, checked, scanned, and delivered to the office in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively via phone or email in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate good reasoning and judgment when investigating and solving problems.
- Consistently show the ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
- Responsible for taking direction from Supervisor and or Lead associate Responsible for any other duties as assigned by Management.
Minimum requirements
- High School Education, but some college preferred.
- Excellent problem solving, organizational, time management and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication abilities with internal and external customers.
- Strong computer proficiency.
- Understanding of an inventory system
- Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
- Must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties in an independent manner with minimal supervision
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
