Description
The Scale Clerk function is to process quickly, accurately and efficiently the certified weighing, billing & directing of the yard truck loading functions. In addition maintaining communication with yard verifiers to ensure all drivers are properly verified.
Summary of essential job functions
This job includes the following duties and any other as assigned by current manager:
- Print, organize and arrange every bulk load out of Morris including making adjustments constantly to accommodate add-ons or revisions
- Double check new orders and completed paperwork
- Scan in all completed paperwork
- Scale in and out drivers
- Keep constant communication with verifiers to have driver verified & assist if needed
- Work with dispatch when planning bulk loads.
- Communicate constantly with dispatch to determine vac pre-loaders’ assignments.
- Locate correct paperwork for all inbound and outbound bulk trucks.
- Make certain that drivers and loaders have the proper net weight and legal axle weights.
- Plan and communicate between Customer Service and Rail Yard to determine order revisions
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to use TMW to look up previous product on trailers.
- Knowledge of equipment (i.e. which trailers have air coolers, straight trailers, Heils vs. J&Ls, etc.)
- Knowledge of all Truck/Transportation Industry
- Knowledge of all aspects of product handling & equipment
- Strong understanding of the inventory system.
- Understanding of shippers and consignees requirements and ability to take split loads.
- Familiarity with shipper’s bill of ladings.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and follow up skills.
- Self motivated and able to work with little direction while under general supervision.
- Must be skilled in Excel, Word and Outlook
