SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for the production of biological controls, media and reagents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ø Reads, understands, and follows Current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP), Quality Standard Operating Procedures (QSOPs) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation in production of products made in area.
Ø Completes production SOP and records in a timely and accurate manner.
Ø Operates lab equipment such as pipette aids, centrifuge, biosafety cabinets, incubators and freezers with understanding of preventative maintenance requirements and safety considerations.
Ø Understands production flow, follows production schedules, and sets priorities for manufacture of intermediate reagents and finished goods.
Ø Maintains workflow and efficient use of resources while working towards goals set by management.
Ø Monitors and confirms inventories of raw materials and intermediate reagents used in daily production and participate in cycle counts.
Ø Resolves problems collaboratively in a timely manner in order to minimize production schedule disruptions.
Ø Performs job duties in accordance with required documentation and meets or exceeds daily production requirements.
Education and Experience:
Ø High school diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of 4 years experience in a manufacturing position or similar science related position required; or BS degree with at least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing position or similar science related position required.
Knowledge/Skills:
Ø Basic computer skills including email, Microsoft Word, Excel or similar programs required.
Ø Good laboratory skills including maintaining orderly and safe work areas required.
Ø Ability to successfully perform the job after 90 days of on the job training required.
Ø Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
