The RoleAs we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Continuous Improvement Development Manager to work at our San Diego office. The Continuous Improvement Development Manager will be a key member of the QuidelOrtho Global Operations Strategy team. A successful candidate is an innovative problem solver that believes in Lean based/Data driven decision making. This position will be responsible for fostering a strong relationship with the end user community at QuidelOrtho, ensuring development of Continuous Improvement deadlines are delivered to, while aligning with Global Operations Strategy. Leading the development of impactful training and team building strategies, setting the standard for Continuous Improvement facilitation and training, and designing executive-level analytics and reporting.
This role requires strong analytical and presentation skills as well as strong interpersonal relationship building skills as this role will interface with multiple teams across the organization.
The ResponsibilitiesLead the Continuous Improvement content development aligned to the QuidelOrtho Improvement Culture roadmap, setting delivery milestones and working with cross-functional teams to deliver content.
Develop a working understanding of Lean principles and support deployment and application across Global Operations.
Assess development needs of Global Operations and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure appropriate training and development plans are put in place to encourage retention and engage employees.
Lead the team through the process of developing & translating data into insightful visualizations and interactive reports to support decision making at all levels within the business.
Support the Global Operations team to make sure data needs are being met and discuss issues that need a business resolution for visualizing data or data analytics.
Work with the team in building out the next generation Global Operations analytics/ Visual Management/Automation of QIC processes roadmap.
Ability to identify measures or indicators of performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to corporate objectives.
Perform other special projects as assigned.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Engineering, related field or equivalent and/or experience or other training will be considered in lieu of a degree.
7 years overall industry experience
3 years of hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement tools and processes
Experience translating business objectives into actionable tasks and designing compelling presentations for all levels of an organization
Experience creating training curriculum and exercises to explain business processes and applications
Self-starter. Ability to work with little direction.
Strong analytical and communication skills to convey information effectively.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
Excellent interpersonal skills, has an ability to work and develop relationships with all levels in an organization.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and program management.
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Preferred:
Certified Lean or Lean Six Sigma practitioner
Skilled in Tableau Desktop, Power BI, Microsoft Suite, and other reporting visualization tools

Operations, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing
The Work EnvironmentTypical dynamic office environment and flexibility to work additional hours as needed. No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 40% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 60% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical/ development work. Occasional travel may be required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.
Salary TransparencyThe salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $78,600.00 - 145,000.00 annually. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays.
