Overview
The Assistant Manager - Used Sales is responsible for managing and growing the Used Equipment business in the defined territory. Works with used equipment team to establish strategic used equipment initiatives.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities for the Assistant Manager - Used Sales include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administrative:
• Develops and manages the budget for the Used Equipment sales in Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles and Orange Counties
• Reviews and approves used equipment purchases, trade-ins, consignments, etc
• Checks budgeting service repairs for completeness and accuracy
• Assist Used Equipment Manager to determines commissions on used equipment sales
• Assist used equipment team with development and implementation of marketing efforts
• Report used equipment sales on a weekly and monthly basis
• Assist in the develop and execution of the marketing campaign for used equipment within the metro region
• Responsible for developing and growing the consignment business in the metro area
• Must be able to travel 50% of the time within territory, with some overnight stays required
• Collaborate with Service Departments to process used equipment
Sales:
• Set trade-in values and repair budgets for machines in the Metro Region and oversee the accuracy of the budget and repairs made
• Maintain a CCU presence at all needed locations
• Responsible for attending sales meetings and being engaged with the sales staff on key components pertaining to the growth of the Used Equipment dept.
• Maintain and cultivate a working relationship with the sales staff and the customers in the Mero region. Ride along with sales staff
• Responsible for developing and growing the consignment business and the metro area
• Developing used equipment sales within defined territory
• Works with sales reps and sales managers to help sell both new and used machines
• Updates the monthly mailer to customers and manages other promotion activities
• Supports company and Caterpillar strategic initiatives
• Review and analyze CAT and industry data to identify trends to provide guidance on used equipment purchasing and selling
• Collaborate with Sales Management to establish annual sales goals for Used Equipment regions and Sales Reps

Wages
Starting wage for the Assistant Manager - Used Sales will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary. $86,500 - $130,323
Qualifications
Five to seven years experienced in used equipment sales and management experience. Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
