What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at QUIRING GENERAL, LLC?
General Overview:
The Estimator has responsibility for estimating assigned projects that the company has undertaken on a negotiated or bid basis.
Description of Duties:
- Perform conceptual cost estimates early in project engagement.
- Review construction project plans, requirements, drawings, and specifications
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates through all stages of design.
- Manage drawing distribution to prospective supplier/subcontractors to obtain bids.
- Reviews design documents for level of completion, assembles comments and requests for additional information.
- Attends Prebid job walks and evaluates site conditions.
- Develops scopes of work to be used during estimating and construction process.
- Supports Value Engineering, alternate construction methods, and special studies as required.
- Evaluate subcontractor bid proposals and assist in bid leveling. Identify and input new or revised data into estimating database.
- Reconcile supplier/subcontractor pricing information with historical data.
- Understand the supplier/subcontractor market in each project location.
- Supports assembly of GMP documents and assists operations team during the subcontractor buyout process.
- Promote goodwill between Quiring and its suppliers/subcontractors.
- Build and maintain exceptional client relationships.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as directed.
- Participate and apply Quiring's Safety Plan to constantly maintain injury-free environments.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
