Opportunity:
Reporting to the Store Manager the Assistant Manager will lead, manage and develop the retail team, under the general supervision of the Store Manager. Prepare, plan and co-ordinate all available resources (labor and equipment) to ensure the daily activities in the assigned functional area meet departmental productivity, quality goals and objectives to maximize sales. The Assistant Manager will have direct reports consisting of Team Members. Assume full control of all accountabilities in the Managers absence. The Assistant Store Manager may need to work varied hours to include evenings and weekends as dictated by business needs.

Your Impact:
- Ensure that all team members have a thorough understanding of all QxH processes and procedures and are therefore able to deliver effective customer service.
- Drive accountability of quality across all the team.
- Assists in managing staffing process through planning staffing needs, interviewing, hiring, and conducting orientation, completing new-hire paperwork and providing all store operations training.
- Evaluates employee performance, writes performance appraisals, with Store Manager approval and administers review.
- Recruit, develop, motivate, and coach Team Members to meet QVC expectations, identifying and encouraging individual development to ensure they understand their personal and team goals relating to the Qurate Principles
- Ensure that all administrative duties are completed in a proper and timely manner, i.e., absence management, payroll, PDR’s, one to one’s, job applications, disciplinary issues etc.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the store involving supervision and monitoring of customer flow through the various stages to deliver a great customer experience.
- Maintain merchandising standards by ensuring that product is available on the salesfloor, product is organized in a manner that allows for customers ease of shopping.
- Designs and implements floor layout moves. Ensures promotional activity is supported with displays and signage.
- Makes recommendations on product allocation, promotional opportunities.
- Focuses on maintaining operational efficiency on all receiving functions; processing, ticketing, electronic receiving and backroom organization.
- Promote awareness of and compliance with all QVC Loss Prevention, Safety and Security policies and procedures as well as addresses Loss Prevention and Safety issues immediately and with a sense of urgency and report any incidents following proper protocol.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to and followed daily.
- Adhere to the stores policy on the sale of prohibited items.
What you bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
- Excellent people management skills and an effective communication style along with a commitment to staff development.
- Previous experience of using key performance indicators to manage and improve both team and individual performance.
- Ability to support the continuous improvement of operational process, with an eye for detail to identify trends and patterns within the department.
- The ability to review and interpret costs, staffing and salary budgets.
- High level of awareness for Health & Safety in the workplace.
- Strong planning and organization abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- PC familiarity with Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to be on your feet for the majority of your shift.
- Ability to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods of time.
