The Opportunity

Do you enjoy planning things ahead of time and considering all factors that could impact your decision making?? Look no further because QVC is hiring for an On Air Merchandise Allocation Planner to support our Jewelry division! The planner will report to the Manager of Merchandise Allocation Planning and is responsible to drive On Air sales and manage overall inventory. The On Air planner works closely with their buying partners to strategically plan the future assortment, while also managing the existing product. They will also work alongside fellow Planners to drive the On Air sales at QVC. The Planner will analyze results to decide next actions and make observations around overall trends of a business. Factors such as customer experience, margin, current events, return rates and new names will be considered and discussed as it relates to the business. Currently this role works from home remotely, but there is a possibility to become a hybrid option. (Time would be split between West Chester Campus and home) We offer great flexibility and support our team members with work life balances.

Our Team

We are a driven team of On Air Merchandise Allocation Planners working to deliver best experience to our customer and doing so by partnering with our internal cross functional teams.

Core accountabilities include: scripting of shows and managing inventory, productivity & margin to drive sales. Work with others to plan and improve the business and maximize sales opportunities. Perform duties according to company policies and procedures with latitude for independent judgment and initiative.

Your Impact

• Prioritize on-air sales and productivity maximization.
• Script assigned shows for all channels according to scripting guidelines. Basing decisions around productivity guidelines and decision tree thinking.
• Work with planning partners as required across all channels.
• Strategize items to maximize selling exposures. Including identification and execution of reorders cultivating the future development of the item as a part of the actions taken.
• Participate in seasonal planning, quarterly planning and assortment planning for assigned categories.
• Identify and react to promotional opportunities including: Easy Pay usage, Shipping & Handling discounts, Sale pricing discounts etc.
• Price product, manage markdowns and manage category margin to the assigned goal.
• Analyze show / item performance and recommend/initiate next actions.
• Monitor and advise on programming adjustments across all channels based on sales results and trends.
• Manage overall inventory level to assigned goal.
• Manage distressed inventory level to assigned goal

What You Bring

• Bachelors Degree required in Marketing analytics, Merchandising, Business, or relevant field.
• 3-5 years of Planner experience.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to quickly analyze data and draw relevant conclusions to have positive effects on business.
• Use data, knowledge of the business model and knowledge of the retail industry to develop ideas, build strategies and achieve the needed business results for the assigned category of business.
• Ability to make decisions to achieve desired results.
