The Opportunity
Under the direction of the site security supervisor, perform a variety of security-related activities to ensure the safety and security of company property and employees, visitors, and guests at the Qurate Corporate Headquarters on the West Chester Campuses.

Your Impact
Greet all individuals entering the facility and issue guest badges as necessary after confirming identity. Notify the QVC contact/department. Ensures the guest remains in the lobby for an escort from the appropriate host.
Greet and check all employees and contract employees entering the building for identification badges, either visually or by monitoring the access control system. Issue temporary badges for employees who enter the building without their badges.
Conduct deterrent / preventive patrols and hazard surveillance of buildings and grounds observing for security breaches, policy and/or work rule violations, unruly and/or unsafe behavior to include safety and fire hazards, unsecured areas, unauthorized persons, damaged property and/or criminal activity. Patrol the grounds to include the detection of disabled vehicles, illegally parked vehicles, and persons in need of assistance, unauthorized persons, and safety hazards. Provide assistance as necessary and appropriate to the circumstances
Complete security log entries to record daily activities. Write detailed security incident reports for all unusual events, observations, and incidents occurring during any work assignment or shift. Complete other logs, as necessary, to track events and provide necessary departmental records.
Rotate through the various security posts, lobby security desks, floor patrol, Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), loading docks, etc., in accordance with the established schedule.
When the need arises, position in the GSOC, monitoring security and fire systems, CCTV, telephone calls, dispatch radio calls for the West Chester Campuses and Global facilities. Make notifications to various Management / Administrative levels related to the escalation notification process
Operate essential security and fire systems including, but not limited to Security Card Access/CCTV systems; PC-Based Fire Alarm Systems; Multi-Channel Radios; QVC Intranet-Based Guest Registration System; SharePoint-Based Security Applications – Incident Reports, Operations Logs, and Security Procedures Manuals & Employee Database.
Issue identification card access badges to employees and approved contractors / vendors
Provide support during QVC sponsored special events and celebrity visits, to include appropriate controls on access to the facility and a safe environment for celebrities, on-air guests, VIPs and the public
Respond to routine service requests, urgent calls for assistance, and emergency situations in accordance with department policies, procedures, guidelines, post orders and sound professional judgment. Perform First Aid, CPR, and operate Automatic External Defibrillation equipment in accordance with prescribed training. Adhere to Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control. Call for police, fire, and/or EMS services as appropriate to the circumstances. Notify Supervisor and/or Health and Safety of medical emergencies.
What You Bring
Minimum of one year work experience in a security related field is required.
Valid Drivers License
Successful result of a security background check
An Associate's degree in criminal justice or the equivalent by a recognized Police and/or Fire Academy is preferred
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to multi-task during high volume and stressful situations
Hepatitis B vaccination (waiver of refusal is required otherwise)
Ability to construct accurate, detailed, concise reports
Ability to successfully complete/maintain the American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to monitor security CCTV systems and identify activity and changes in the field of view
Ability to lift, move, push, pull objects weighing up to 50lbs
Ability to work fast and accurately in emergency situations
Ability to operate company vehicle
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Ability to maintain muscular exertion for a minimum period of time against fairly immovable or heavy objects in order to lift, push, or pull
Maintain attendance as defined by company policy
Ability to differentiate between legal & Illegal activities
