About the Role
The Utility Machinist I will independently and efficiently operate both CNC and multiple manual machines, demonstrating expertise in machining processes. The role requires a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality production standards, ensuring precision and accuracy in all tasks, and adhering to all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- This is a 2nd shift opportunity.
- Hours: 330p-130AM. Monday-Thursday
Main responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Work from blueprints, dispatch lists, programming sheets, layout sheets and written or verbal instruction.
- Responsible for Quality Control of own work.
- Organize the prints according to the dispatch list, setups, tooling and quality of the parts produced.
- Monitor machine. Observe control panel indicators or display lights to detect and correct machine malfunction.
- Report any machine/equipment issues to supervisor immediately
- Inspect your own work using micrometers, various gauges and indicators, calipers or other adjustable measuring instruments.
- Convert to and from metric measurement.
- Loan to other departments when instructed.
- Check oil level and coolant level on machines as well as other daily PM tasks.
- Communication and teamwork with other employees.
- Clean machine and surrounding areas.
- Keep work areas at a safe operating standard.
- Operate equipment such as: general hand and power tools, precision measuring tools, tape measure, sand blaster, computer, grinders, sanders, drills, presses, cranes, router, poly roller, lifting magnet, vacuum lift, compactor, lift trucks and cleaning equipment.
What You Need to Be Successful
High School diploma or equivalent.
Equivalent to 1-2 years practical trades training or hands-on experience.
Knowledge of shop arithmetic.
Ability to work from blueprints and verbal instructions.
Knowledge and use of a variety of precision measuring instruments.
Must complete and pass appropriate training.
Lift varying weight up to 50 pounds.
Constant standing and walking required.
