Senior Accountant (Audit & Tax)

VonLehman CPA & Advisory Firm is currently seeking a Senior Accountant (Audit & Tax) to support our VonLehman & Company & Rödl & Partner Joint Venture! You will work with a select team providing audit and tax services to predominately US -Inbound International Businesses (primarily German/European owned) in the manufacturing and distribution industry. Our ideal candidate has been with a public accounting firm, has experience in audit and/or tax and general accounting, and can manage multiple engagements.

What you will do: 

• Lead and supervise audit engagements in a variety of industries concentrating on manufacturing and distribution
• Develop and execute audit programs by documenting objectives, identifying risks, evaluating controls, and designing test procedures associated with the audit scope
• Perform technical accounting and tax research on a variety of topics
• Prepare tax provisions
• Prepare complex income tax returns including federal, state, locals, etc. for primarily C-Corporations
• Review less complex income tax returns for primarily C-Corporations
• Show awareness of significant tax issues and opportunities
• Provide timely and high-quality services and deliverables that exceed client expectations
• Maintain active communication to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction
• Prepare clear, concise workpapers and other communications
• Impart knowledge, facilitate staff development, and provide training and learning experiences
• Effectively delegate and oversee the work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, and removing obstacles
• Team with shareholders and senior managers on proposals and business development opportunities for the Joint Venture
• Provide timely training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff associates

What you need to bring:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience including experience in public accounting 
• BA/BS degree in Accounting or master’s degree in accounting/taxation
• CPA license or similar certification
• Dedication to teamwork and leadership
• Integrity within a professional environment
• Excellent research, writing and communication skills in English

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industry
• CCH Axcess
• ProSystem fx Engagement
• Writing and communication skills in German (not required)
