RK Industries, Inc is primarily an automotive stamping and welding facility who has been in business for 38 years. RK Industries has been steadily growing over the past few years and we are in need of some talented individuals who would like an opportunity to grow with our company. We are currently searching for a Cost Estimator to help with quoting jobs.
Qualifications:
A strong High School education to Associates Degree in Technology and/or Engineering. Manufacturing experience. New Product Development Experience. Strong math skills including trigonometry and geometry. Experience in various facets of Manufacturing, including:
Machining
Stamping
Single hit
Progressive dies
Transfer tools
Welding
Resistance welding
Automation
Robotic systems
Cellular design
Precision gaging
Coatings
Plating
E-coating
Powder-coating
Heat Treat
Materials
Steel
Stainless Steel
Aluminum
Pre-requisites:
Blue print reading
CAD
Geometric tolerancing

Familiar with a Standardized quoting system. Familiar with various industry costing structures. Employee must exhibit attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Reviews multiple options for routing and costing in order to ascertain the best processing option (using costing system). Integrating somewhat complex variables in order to determine optimum forms of production and pricing. Meets with Sales and Engineering to discuss options for non-standard jobs or complex jobs. These can occur monthly or as requested by the Vice President.
Regularly communicates directly with suppliers or Vice President, to get quotes on processes outside of RKI manufacturing capabilities. May need to gain their support and immediate action especially when time is limited. Must interact with sales, engineering and or Vice President to clarify part print information and/or request missing information.
Quotes are often intricate and need you to have a keen eye for accuracy. The employee is accountable for the timeliness and accuracy of any Quote he or she may be submitting. The quote should be checked at several points along the way. The employee’s judgement weighs heavily into the pricing response to the customer and therefore in the potential award of new business or continuing business.
