What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events Manager position at Rí Rá Irish Pub?
We are looking for an experienced Events Manager for our RiRa Irish Pub and Restaurant, located on the waterfront in Portland, Maine! We have a high volume party and events business and need someone who is a strong communicator, highly organized and guest focused, to lead the execution of that business in the restaurant.
What You Will Be Doing
-Handle all planning of events after initial booking to the completion of the event.
-Supervise, organize and control execution of events hosted at the restaurant
-Hold pre-meal meetings with event staff to ensure smooth, efficient service; assign service stations and coordinate the timing of courses.
-Coordinate staff and resources to host events within the highest customer service standards
-Verify BEO’s and ensure facility and rooms are ready for each event
-Delegate tasks to team members as appropriate
-Meet with the Sales Manager and General Manager weekly to discuss logistics of events
-Greet event contact(s), by name, and offer assistance with any guest or special setup needs
-Ensure proper and timely progression of event, including guest movement, food and beverage service and event end
-Coordinate food service between kitchen and service staff.
-Inspect and maintain all equipment used in banquets.
-Help select, train, supervise and evaluate event service staff.
-Communicate event information to management via written reports in shift notes.
-Work independently, with a minimum of supervision and guidance on established banquet service procedures
-Ensure that the event closet is kept tidy and that all event equipment is returned to the event closet after each event.
-Order linens from the linen vendor on a weekly basis.
-Add events to Resy on a weekly basis.
-Meet prospective clients and give tours to prospective clients as needed.
-Send thank you emails to each host after each event.
