Field Safety professional, reporting to Senior Management, is responsible for establishing, monitoring and enforcing companywide field safety policies on premise and on project sites.
Job Title: Field Safety Manager
Location: Frederick, MD
Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce Corporate Safety Program on jobsite
- Ensure that all subcontractors and vendors are informed of and comply with contractual environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Coordinates between safety engineers and subcontractors to ensure proper safety procedures are being carried out.
- Inspects and audits working conditions, safety equipment and machinery on jobsite.
- Act as safety resource to project management team.
- Assist project management teams in loss control activities.
- Assist project management teams with pre-project, pre-phase and pre-task planning.
- Assist project management team in developing site-specific safety program.
- Review safety submittals.
- Help Develop JHA’s and Implement them on jobsite.
- Conduct job specific loss control data/documentation collection.
- Promote employee participation.
- Formulate and conduct training sessions/demonstrations/toolbox talks.
- Exhibit operational knowledge of construction OSHA and other pertinent safety standards.
- Ensure uniform interpretation of site safety procedures.
- Documents and tracks through correction all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- This position requires 5 years of related experience with managing field construction safety or B.S. in Occupational Health and Safety or similar discipline with 2 years of field safety experience including extensive knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
- The ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures are essential.
- Must be able to anticipate, recognize, and evaluate hazardous conditions as well as develop hazard control methods. Must be familiar with the application of safety and human resource regulations.
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 regulations and training requirements.
- Positive attitude and professional customers service skills required.
- Demonstrated leader proven dependability as well as support for company policies.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and able to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines and a “roll-up- your sleeves”, hands on leader and team player.
- Must be a self-motivator and team participant.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Cool under pressure especially during peak workload times and tight deadlines.
- OSHA 30
- First Aid & CPR certification
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
