What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Assoc I position at R1 RCM Holdco, Inc.?

Shift; Rotating days. 3 shifts one week, 4 shifts the next week. The Patient Access Clerk will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties to support assigned areas and programs. Responsibilities: Composes, types and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications as required. Routes written communications as appropriate. Communicates with others in person, telephone, and/or email. May receive and screen visitors and handles general inquiries. Assists with preparing for and facilitating meetings, conferences, programs and/or special events. Establishes and maintains filing systems. Orders and stocks supplies. Determines work priorities, assigns and schedules work load for the department. Develops and refines clerical policies and procedures. Trains support personnel in new procedures and new employees on duties to be performed. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to be “on-call” Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. One (1) year of related work experience is required. Physical Requirements: See, read, and/or operate computers, telephones, office equipment, documents, labels, including manipulating paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. Remain sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment. Frequent interactions with associates, patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require associate to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information banding patients, etc. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items (over 5 lbs.).
