Position: Administrator
Part Time: 15 Hr/wk
Hourly Pay: $12.00

The Racine Heritage Museum is seeking an Administrator to support the Executive Director and
Assistant Director in the office management of the museum. As the Administrator, you will be responsible for a broad range of duties to ensure an organized and productive office environment.
RHM works with a limited staff in an open workspace; therefore, an ideal candidate would be comfortable working in a collaborative environment. This position is well suited for a candidate desiring a flexible work schedule.

The Administrator’s Duties include:

  • Providing communicative assistance such as writing and editing emails, drafting memos, and preparing communications on behalf of the Executive Director.
  • Responding to museum inquiries.
  • Performing minor accounting duties.
  • Implementing and developing office procedures.
  • Maintaining office supplies and museum shop inventory and working with vendors.
  • Scheduling museum staff and volunteers.
  • Recruiting and training volunteers.
  • Staffing the front desk when needed.
  • Assisting the Executive Director, Assistant Director, and Marketing Manager in planning major museum events.
  • Providing support at museum events.

Preferred Skills and Requirements:

  • Highschool Diploma/GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred. Training in Museum specific procedures will be provided.
  • Previous clerical, data processing, and bookkeeping experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management skills and an eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software and Adobe programs needed.

The Racine Heritage Museum (Racine County Historical Society and Museum Inc.) is a 501c(3) non- profit museum. The museum’s mission is to preserve the material culture and tell the special stories of the people of Racine County; their achievements, diversity, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit.
