Job Summary
The School of Computing and Information Sciences seeks qualified applicants with expertise teaching introductory Computer Science courses for a special purpose faculty appointment during the 9 month academic year beginning in Fall 2021. The appointment is renewable based on performance. Service requirements during the academic year may include advising undergraduates and participating in departmental committees.
Physical Demands
Required Qualifications
Ability to teach fundamental Computer Science courses to freshman and sophomores (incl. non-majors).
Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Ability to collaborate with faculty and adapt curriculum to support follow-on courses.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching different types of learners at different levels with a variety of teaching methods
The ability to (learn to) teach effectively in additional areas, particularly: computer security, web development, data management, and software testing.
Significant experience teaching Computer Science or Information Systems courses.
Education
Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
