Radiation Business Solutions is growing, and we need people to join our team that are committed to serving patients and our client practices. We are actively seeking a Business Analyst-Population Health.

This position will offer the possibility of remote work.

Under general supervision within the Finance Department, the Business Analyst-Population Health works within the finance area and supports the ongoing focus on Population Health within the organization by providing timely analysis and financial impacts of proposed Population Health initiatives that support the Quadruple Aim. Must have a strong understanding of quality reporting, provider recruitment and satisfaction and the impact of new financial models on the industry and our clients. Must be technically sound with data management and be able to utilize and learn new Business Intelligence (BI) software. Experience within a Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) or Accountable Care Organization (ACO) is a plus.

Essential Functions: The following are indicative of the essential functions required to perform this job successfully.

  • Manage the reporting for population health initiatives
  • Help build, record, and report on quality metrics to internal and external clients
  • Build and administer distribution worksheets and methodologies for Sr. Management approval
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested to reconcile performance variances to budget or expected amounts
  • Work with Payor Initiatives and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) as needed to prepare data needed to evaluate current performance of contracts or sites as well as evaluate new opportunities
  • Participate in site specific meetings and present financial and quality information as requested
  • Work with Finance team on month and year end close as needed
  • Recommend ways to improve quality and cost performance to clinical leaders and providers
  • Provide financial analysis support to management team as needed related to new business sources, maximization of current client’s profitability, and analysis of “what if” scenarios
  • Model financial impact of new contract proposals
  • Educate new employees and partners on current and future status of population health projects
  • Serve as back-up for all accounting processes including AP, payroll, FS preparation, etc.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business-related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in value-based care operations, reporting and management preferred
  • Previous experience as a financial or business analyst required

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent computer skills; experience in Microsoft Office Suite and claims payment systems
  • Understanding and ability to explain impact of changing utilization and claims patterns
  • Ability to identify and report on quality indicators as defined by management or payors
  • Proven success in recruiting and onboarding providers
  • Problem solving—the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
  • Data presentation – the individual is able to analyze and present financial and other business data in a way that is easy for the end user to interpret and utilize
  • Interpersonal Skills—the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things. Handles feedback and direction from site managers and senior team leads with desire towards further learning and collective team goals.
  • Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts meetings. Communicates on inbound phone calls with professionalism, courtesy, knowledge and accuracy to display positive image of RBS to clients, potential clients, payers, patients, providers, and business associates.
  • Written Communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
  • Planning/organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans. Limits personal activity during workday (texting, browsing internet, personal calls). Seeks additional responsibilities as work is completed to ensure workload is balanced between team members.
  • Quality control—the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality. Displays appropriate judgment in seeking direction (i.e. limits interruptions to appropriate times, schedules time with manager to review, questions routine practices as appropriate with a desire to understand why things are done and to eliminate non-essential functions as necessary)
