Overview
The Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Analyst prepares, reconciles and analyzes financial information; identifies issues and potential process or systems enhancement; leads the department with training while serving as the first point of escalation; performs special studies and develops new processes and procedures. This job classification operates under minimum supervision and requires knowledge of accounting/financial practices and procedures and the ability to accurately produce, analyze, and interpret a variety of financial documents and statements.
Responsibilities
- SAP Super User, test new and revised process through qc in SAP before roll out.
- May be responsible for entering and verifying changes in SAP Master Data or tables for all cost center/profit center and chart of accounts.
- Serves as the first point of escalation relating to items in assigned functional area, queries and journal entries.
- Leads and provides training and support, reviews work and motivates team members in the department.
- Performs account reconciliations/analyses for complex accounts and provides financial analysis and support.
- Recommends, designs and implements ongoing improvements in accounting processes and procedures for assigned functional area.
- Performs special projects and ad hoc analyses.
- Monitors, troubleshoots and resolves problems related to accounting/financial processes under area of responsibility.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree in Accounting or Business, plus 3 to 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience or training required.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
Required Knowledge
- Technical financial/accounting knowledge to conduct routine to complex analysis, prepare reports, monitor results and interpret information.
- Strong systems knowledge and personal computer proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge and understanding of the flow of Financial Statements; Balance Sheet, Income Statement.
- Knowledge and understanding of SAP or ERP System
Skills and Abilities
- Import large volumes of data from various sources and convert file formats to usable Excel format. Must be proficient in Vlookup and Pivot tables.
- Lead, train and motivate employees.
- Complete work in an accurate and timely manner.
- Develop and present analysis and conclusions in a clear and concise format using charts and tables.
- Relate well to others and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Reconcile and analyze various types of accounts (Prepaids, accruals, suspense, liability) and provide guidance.
