AD OPERATIONS SPECIALIST  

RALLY is seeking a Ad Operations Specialist to join our team and oversee the firm’s digital advertising campaigns. The Ad Operations Specialist will lead execution of digital advertising campaigns on behalf of our clients across social, search, and programmatic. This role will also include daily optimization of campaign performance, tag management, reporting and analytics, as well as troubleshooting creative or ad performance and managing and/or securing advertising partners. The Ad Operations Specialist will sit on the digital team and work with digital team members across accounts with advertising campaigns, as well as have the opportunity to help build out RALLY’s digital advertising work. 

Qualified candidates must have prior experience managing digital ad placements in a political or issue-advocacy context. They must bring experience with platforms that are used frequently to engage leaders, influencers, activists, and voters, including Google Ads (Search & YouTube), Facebook Ads Manager, and Twitter Ads. Experience with other social ad platforms such as TikTok and Snapchat or programmatic DSPs is a plus. Candidates must also be able to multitask, problem-solve, manage multiple campaigns, and collaborate across teams (design, creative, and account teams). As a team contributor, this person performs tasks effectively and with minimal supervision, develops collaborative relationships with team members, displays clear communication, and acts proactively.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with digital strategists and assist with the development of media plans by providing expertise on ad placements and targeting;
  • Coordinate campaign launches and help manage advertising campaigns for awareness, engagement, marketing, and persuasion per insertion orders, including budget management and optimization; 
  • Coordinate creative assets and creative instructions with internal teams and assist with organizing campaign assets to help expedite efficient trafficking;
  • Upload and QA ad creative for functionality and compliance with platform specifications;
  • Setting up cross-channel paid campaign performance tracking in Funnel and creating comprehensive metrics dashboards in Google Data studio; regularly pulling campaign reporting and providing insights and recommendations to improve campaign performance;
  • Run weekly, daily, and final quantitative and qualitative reports as required by digital/client account teams, include insights for clients to inform incremental buys or new campaigns;
  • Troubleshoot campaign performance by investigating ad server bugs, third party discrepancies, and under-delivery issues;
  • Liaise with ad technology and ad placement vendors to launch, troubleshoot, and maintain digital campaigns;
  • Project manage custom ad offerings, including content sponsorships, PMPs, direct buys, and new or intricate creative ad formats;
  • Collaborate with the account and billing teams to reconcile ad spend, and resolve monthly and ongoing invoicing inquires;
  • Provide after-hours support for any client-related emergencies, as necessary.

 INTERNAL FOCUS:

  • Help to identify opportunities to implement solutions that increase the effectiveness and efficiencies of the Ad Ops department, including the development of tools, process, and reports related to job responsibilities; 
  • Seek and set-up PMP deals to secure inventory;
  • Identify areas to improve and scale internal infrastructure;
  • Keep up on industry trends to incorporate in RALLY’s digital advertising services; 
  • Explore emerging platforms such as Clubhouse and Pinterest;
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact responsible for ensuring the timely completion of all critical tasks and identify upstream and downstream barriers to success related to paid advertising campaigns. 


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  •  3-5 years of experience in paid campaigns on common social channels, like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, optimized for awareness, engagement, marketing, and persuasion;
  • Experience with creating data visualization reports to analyze and present paid advertising; familiarity with data tools such as Funnel, Google Data Studio, and Google Analytics;
  • Experience with planning platforms such as Google Keyword Planner, Google Trends, Facebook Insights, and others;
  • Experience with the principles of creating an advertising campaign, composing audience targeting strategies, running ad creative tests, and optimizing for optimizing for increased ROAS;
  • Understanding of paid digital advertising metrics, conversion funnels, and ability to link results with specific elements of a broader campaign;
  • Strong analytical and writing skills with demonstrated ability to interpret and present data and summarize insights and next steps;
  • Certification in Google Ads and Google Analytics;
  • Strong verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agency environment;
  • The ability to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment is a must;
  • Effective problem-solving skills, specifically the ability to assess situations, evaluate options, make decisions, draw conclusions, and exercise judgment. Prior experience in an ad agency is required, ideally with a digital focus;
  • Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required; 
  • High attention to detail required;
  • Strong personnel and time management is a must;
  • Client-facing experience;
  • Familiarity with Advertising Research and Verification vendors like Nielsen, ComScore, Moat, Integral Ad Science, Millard Brown, etc is nice to have, but not required.
