Senior HVAC Engineer - Daily Travel Required

JOB DUTIES, MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MONTH/YEARS EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, SPECIAL LICENCSE, ETC):

SUMMARY: Oversees property maintenance of HVAC/Refrigeration equipment, throughout the portfolio. Responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment.  Will travel to all hotels in portfolio, on a schedule that maximizes times and efficiency to ensure all rooms and equipment are in working order. Will communicate with Facilities Director to share the progress on all faulty and/or newly installed equipment.  Must be able and willing to travel daily.  Company vehicle may be provided.

Professional Experience

• Preferably 3 years’ experience in HVAC/ Refrigeration maintenance or engineering related field.
• Mechanical – HVAC, PTAC, Packaging unit, Gas Furnace, Heaters & Dryers.
• Electrical
• Plumbing
• Apartment, building, or lodging maintenance experience.

Essential Functions

• Be flexible and willing to perform other tasks as necessary or requested.
• Wear room hotel uniform per hotel standards; adhere to professional grooming standards.

·         Maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.

·         Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.

·         Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.

·         Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing other services,

·         Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.

·         Providing technical direction to Maintenance Engineers.

·         Keeping logs and records of all repairs.

·         Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.

·         Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair coolers, freezers, and ice machines.

• Knowledge and ability to use basic work tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend at waist and work on knees.
• Ability to reach over head.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to walk three flights of stairs.
• Ability to work outside in hot or cold weather.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Computer Experience

Proficiency in:

•       Microsoft word

•       Excel

•       Data entry

•       Database management systems

Education

• Background screening for previous criminal history
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
