What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Electrical Engineer, AMO position at Ramboll US Corporation?
This is a hybrid position working in office and at home from either our Charlotte, NC or Winston-Salem, NC locations.
You will join our Advanced Manufacturing Electrical Department
As our new Senior Electrical Engineer you will be part of our Engineering Department, consisting of a multi-discipline design/engineering staff focused on the industrial manufacturing market. You will focus on engineering solutions for our clients and supporting projects in offices across the US. Your responsibility will be for providing leading electrical engineering designs for our projects over the total life cycle running from technical studies, front-end loading stages, detailed engineering design to constructability reviews.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will perform complex assignments requiring the application of advanced engineering techniques for an entire project or selected segments of a complete project. The individual must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying advanced engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to make major design decisions and direct the entire design team.
The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience with a professional engineering (PE) license, and specialized expertise in heavy industrial, manufacturing, and chemical plants.
Job DescriptionYour core responsibilities will be:
- Power Distribution Systems Design and Engineering based on the National Electrical Code and on Client Specifications.
- Facility Lighting Systems Design and Engineering
- Grounding Systems Design and Engineering
- Power Panel Schedule Development
- Motor Control System Design and Engineering
- Process Control Panel Design and Engineering
- Process Instrumentation Wiring Diagrams
- Communicates and documents effectively with project team, including outside contacts, customers, and other engineering departments.
- Review and analyze project requirements, codes, and standards to ensure compliance with regulations and client specifications.
- Perform design calculations and prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.

- Prepares proposals and fee estimates.
- Serves as a technical lead engineer of the quality review process of work products developed by others and coordinates the work of other engineering disciplines into the final design deliverables.

- Electrical Engineers may be designated as a Project Manager for Electrical engineering projects.
- Provide support for construction projects, including cost estimating, construction phasing/scheduling, site inspections, punch list development and review of shop drawings.
- Acts as a leader in implementing and promoting health and safety requirements and guidance.
- Mastered engineering fundamentals.
- Proficient with drawing production tools such as REVIT.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Works very effectively in teams and as a primary team leader.
- Commitment to delivering high quality work products to our clients, demonstrating an ability to develop less experienced employees or an ability to develop client relationships.
- Experience in the development and management of staff, project management and business development within a consulting engineering environment preferred.
- Leadership capability to make quick and sometimes tough decisions. Develop opportunities for individuals to work together. Encourages and seeks out feedback.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Effectively utilizes established quality control processes and regularly communicates project status to the project manager or project owner.
- Participates in relevant professional affiliations.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as required to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.

- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit software is a plus
