Responsibilities:
- Ensures workers are working in a safe manner and a safe environment as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Participates in planned and unplanned inspections.
- Maintains due diligent standards for the organization.
- Communicating daily productivity and initiating continuous improvement with employees
- Complete inspections and sign off on all products being produced on their respective shift.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Has the ability to interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assign duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, improve methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Assists workers in problem solving tactics, suggesting, and initiating plans to motivate workers towards common goals.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate the activities of individual departments.
- Ensure hourly payroll is completed weekly – ADP hours approved, and timesheets submitted.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, communicate verbally with workers and managers.
- Ability to train employees to operate and assist in helping operators
Equipment Knowledge : Computer skills, measuring instruments,
Role Requirements:
- Must have computer skills – Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; Experience with Internet use, and a general understanding of computers.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to solve technical practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Qualifications:
- Good work ethic with focus on producing quality work on time and in line with customer requirements
- Forklift and overhead crane experience are preferred
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to work night shift and weekends
