Randal Retail Group, established in 1981, is a third-generation family-owned business operated out of Batavia, IL. Randal manufacturers and installs custom store fixtures, signage, and graphics. Our team designs and manufactures custom millwork, seating, and tables – nationally and internationally. Randal Retail works with a number of retail, foodservice, health & fitness and franchise operations.
About the role
We are seeking a candidate for a hybrid role as foreman/field installer. This individual will generally split their time between the shop in Batavia and on job sites throughout the USA. As a foreman, you will be responsible for management of personnel, overseeing execution of schedule, supervision and participation in shop related fabrication projects, facilitating a productive and efficient work flow, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and implementation of policy and procedures to improve overall shop efficiency and quality. As a field installer, you will travel to job sites, assign work to helpers, receive and unload shipments, install and trouble shoot issues onsite with the millwork.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversight and execution of schedule
- Coordinate the necessary project requirements with the VP of Operations
- Allocation of duties to shop personnel
- Monitor and manage material inventory so that work flow is not stopped or impeded
- Ensure tooling and machinery is working properly to minimize downtime
- Working with and maintaining hand and power tools and other carpentry trade equipment while in the field
- Measure, cut, prepare, and arrange materials for installation
- Install cabinetry, trim, fixtures, and related hardware and parts
- Mechanical and carpentry aptitude and a strong detail orientation:
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings and project specifications
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot coordinate repairs of machinery
- Solid surface / Corian countertops – training is available.
- Lamination – training is available.
- Manage on-site helper hours
- Communicate thoroughly with Project Manager(s) to ensure all materials are on site to complete the job and that any issues are brought to their attention as soon as possible.

- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Travel to job sites 25% of time
- Ability to work on short-term assignments with tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks, projects, and changing demands.
- You are in good physical condition and have the strength and endurance to complete the installs efficiently in 10-hour shifts and the ability to lift 50 - 75lbs
Salary : $50,800 - $64,400
