Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Deli Associate to join our team. As a Deli Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and ensuring the deli department operates smoothly. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli products, including sandwiches, salads, and hot food items
- Assist customers in selecting deli items and provide recommendations
- Upsell additional products and promote daily specials
- Ensure food is prepared and presented according to quality and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations
- Handle cash transactions using the cash register and maintain accurate cash drawer
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination
- Stock shelves, refrigerators, and display cases with fresh products
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the food industry or food service preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety guidelines
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Familiarity with Aloha POS system is a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods
