What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dietitian position at Randolph Hospital?
Provides diabetes education and coordination for Randolph Health’s Outpatient Diabetes Self-Management Program. Assists in managing the diabetes program budget, as well as maintaining the program’s ADA certification status. Serves as the program coordinator as described by the ADA ERP, and serves as a clinical resource for patients, community and other professionals in diabetes management and medial nutritional therapy. Must be willing to teach some evening classes. Provides MNT as needed for hospital affiliated outpatient clinics and for community patients, as referred.
Current RD Licensure in North Carolina. Must be a CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator) or be willing to take the CDE exam once the qualifications have been met. Must have knowledge of diabetes management and adult learning principles. Strong teaching and classroom skills are required. Must possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and strong problem solving skills are required.
Prefer minimum of 2 years experience as a RD. Teaching experience and strong knowledge of diabetes required. Must be a current CDE or be willing to take the national CDE examination.
