Category Manufacturing Buyer located near Pleasant View, TN for a leading manufacturer of consumer goods. This role is responsible to coordinate activities involved with procuring raw material supplies or component parts. To be considered - must have at least three (3) years procurement/buyer experience ideally within an automotive or manufacturing environment. Qualifications:

• Must have at least three (3) years of procurement/buyer experience (Automotive or manufacturing environment is ideal)
• Experience in suppliers process and cost drivers
• Negotiation skills

Preferred:

• Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings (preferred)
• BS Degree in Business or Engineering (preferred)

responsibilities:

• Coordinates activities involved with procuring raw material supplies or component parts used to manufacture products
• Driving Direct Material Purchasing activity in the factory for the assigned components/service
• Developing good relationships with preferred suppliers
• Ensure maximum collaboration with the Commodity Team granting correct flow from factory into commodity organization.
• Coordinate new suppliers / parts and engineering changes with Materials, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and external suppliers
• Review and analyze materials supplied to identify more cost-effective opportunities
