job summary:

A Material Planner is needed for a rail transport company, active in the fields of passenger transportation, signalling and locomotives in the Hornell, NY area. This position will be planning and inventory strategy deployment based on parts typology, demand input, volume, price and other potential characteristics.

responsibilities:

• She/He will production planning in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in line with Project Planning - Master Production Scheduling (MPS).
• Material demand in ERP based on production planning, maintenance planning, repairs planning, sales orders or statistical methods.
• Material Net Requirements and forecasts in ERP (or alternative) based on Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) process.
• Leadership and coordination of missing parts anticipation process and missing parts root cause analysis.
• Planning and inventory strategy deployment based on parts typology, demand input, volume, price and other potential characteristics.
• Key Performance Indicators monitoring and reporting and continuous improvement activity for planning.
• Work closely with suppliers on various projects.
• Material master data creation and maintenance (MRP type, MRP controller, make/buy, planning strategy, MRP parameters, ...... ).

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 1-3 years of Material, Production and/or Supply Chain Planning.
• One to two years related experience and/or training in a related field such as Purchasing, Sourcing, Logistics or other Supply.
