Accounts Payable Specialist

A professional services company in Woodbury, NY is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their growing team. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual that has 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role OR a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance. This individual must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have the ability to work in a team driven environment. salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct accounts to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
  
  
• Handles vendor correspondence via phone or email.
  
  
• Investigates and resolves issues associated with processing of invoices.
  
  
• Prepares batch check runs and wire transfers.
  
  
• Receives, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
  
  
• Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
  
  
• Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.
  
  
• Other duties, as needed, to support firm and office operations.
  
  
• Has general accounting experience in a high-volume environment
