Responsibilities
- CDL with hazmat certification.
- Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicles.
- Properly operate all controls and equipment for the safe loading and unloading of cargo, including but not limited to operating and manipulating boom cranes, lift gates, and manual pallet jacks.
- Properly stow and secure all cargo and equipment before movement as required by US DOT regulations and company policy.
- Professional representation of the company through responsible driving, courteous customer service, and appearance.
- Inspect CMV for defects to ensure safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips and submit a documented report on the condition of the CMV at the end of each trip or tour of duty.
- Check shipping papers to determine the nature of the load and verify for accuracy, including proper display of all required placards at all times.
- Properly drive CMV to and from designated destinations for up to the maximum hours as DOT hours-of-service rules allow.
- Comply with all company and customer safety and delivery requirements, including wearing the required personal protective equipment when required.
