contract accountant

Randstad is working with an agriculture company that is looking for someone to step in for a long term Accounting Contract. In this role you will be focused mainly on cost accounting but will also be able to help in other areas in the accounting department where needed. This will be a full time 40 hour work week’s minimum. The right candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and preferably in the construction/ agriculture industries.

salary: $26 - $40 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: High` School

Responsibilities

Gathers and compiles cost information and maintains database.

• Establish total labor hours for each operation for routings.
• Act as accounting liaison with the plants during month end physical inventories
• Ensure daily production postings are flowing through the ERP system properly
• Create any inventory and/or variance accounts.
• Analyze cost standards.
• Set up conversion factors.
• Review and analyze actual costs to identify inaccuracies.
• Review, analyze, and report actual profit margins.
• Perform month-end and year-end closings.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Determine and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Set up Material, Labor, and Overhead cost standards for all RM, WIP, NV, and FG.
• Create monthly Gross margin reports for each product.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
