This fast-paced, hands-on position manages projects and provides technical support for manufacturing process development, controls, startup, and continuous improvement. Candidates should have previous experience in an electronics manaufacturing environment with an ephasis in controls and automation design. You will be expected to collaborate with other engineers to concept, design and manufacture custom automation equipment, create electrical & control systems from the ground-up, and create PLC programs from scratch using DirectLOGIC or equivalen.

responsibilities:
- Design jigs and fixtures to facilitate the assembly of products in SolidWorks.
- strong understanding of materials and mechanical & electronic systems.
- Responsible for maintaining assembly documentation and production routings.
- Responsible for analysis of new products or design concepts for manufacturability and presentation of analysis with recommendations and possible solutions.
- Management of electrical control equipment programs for new and existing products, including cost estimation, justification, design, development, implementation, and validation.
- Technical problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the design, development and installation of semi-automated machines and production lines.
- Assist building new product prototypes and production pilot runs.
- Manage multiple projects, goals, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Lead and proactively participate in cross-functional teams.
- Collect data to justify spending on capital and tooling projects.
- Communicate and gain consensus within all levels of the organization.
- Leadership in safety and ergonomics.
- Technical Degree and 5 years of experience in controls and automation design.
- Actual experience creating electrical & control systems from the ground-up.
- Work in close collaboration with other engineers to concept, design and manufacture custom automation equipment.
- Spec, source & deploy electrical and control components to suit the need of each custom system.
- Able to create PLC programs from scratch using DirectLOGIC or equivalent.
- Experienced with Modbus/TCP and Ethernet/IP communication protocols.
- Integration of motion, safety, pneumatic and HMI systems under the umbrella of the PLC control system.
- Proficient electrical panel layout, design, and fabrication.
- Manage the BOM of electrical & controls components for each system, from concept through purchasing, installation, and final testing.
- Able to generate electrical and controls prints for fabrication & documentation.
- Willing to work with existing systems, troubleshooting, and repairing.
- General knowledge of: Electrical code, OSHA Machine Safety Standards.
- Company moving fast to implement robotic solutions using UR Robots.
