responsibilities:
- Manage the full life cycle of capital projects to include project justification, conceptual design, Capex approval, preliminary design, HAZOP, construction, commissioning, project closure
- Work closely with internal and external customers to deliver projects including design, specification, and build of new equipment
- Ensure that the Management of Change process is followed, risk assessments and hazard identification are carried out for all tasks being undertaken
- Support and manage process improvements projects throughout the plant
- Manage the capital budget for engineering projects and the operations budget for the Engineering department
- Collaborate and support the Maintenance team in maintaining site equipment
- Maintain and increase the high level of team engagement and act as a mentor and support development of the Engineering team and other teams across the region through coaching
- Other duties as typical and assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Approximately 10 or more years experience of working in an operational/chemical or refining processing environment
- Demonstrated experience in leading a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Previous experience-knowledge of the oil and-or gas sector
- Experience in managing engineering projects from concept to delivery
- An understanding of Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering as it relates to supporting design and build of the plant
- Demonstrated experience with continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma

- Minimum 10 years of experience
- Education: Bachelors (required)
