Manufacturing Buyer

A manufacturer just outside the Knoxville, TN area is seeking an experienced Buyer with a background in the manufacturing industry. All candidates must have progressive purchasing experience within this industry. An advanced knowledge of QAD or SAP systems is preferred, in addition to strong negotiation skills! Responsibilities

• Perform various procurement activities for all materials, services, and technologies.
• Responsible for effectively completing assignments that require in-depth knowledge and application of procurement policies and procedures to efficiently manage and issue RFQ's and purchase orders, conduct regular price comparisons/analysis, utilize effective negotiation skills, etc., to ensure that the procurement function is achieving lowest cost solutions for all direct/indirect purchases.
• Responsible for maintaining optimal supply/inventory levels
• Continually monitor department metrics, KPI data, etc., and lead the effort among buyers to drive continual improvement in supplier pricing/quality/delivery performance and material availability.
