What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Planner position at Randstad?
Plans and prepares assembly/production procedures (work orders) in manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities:
- Draws up master planning to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
- Works directly with quality department to ensure master files are accurate to latest revisions and specs
- Assists the Manufacturing Engineering department to determine workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
- Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of assembly/production workers
- Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
- Supports the development of assembly/production reports, prepares list of and purchase order of required materials, toll and equipment.
- Interprets customer blueprints
Requirements:
- Trade school, vocational education, apprenticeship or bachelor’s degree
- Up to 5 years as an assembly/production planner in the aerospace and/or machine shop experience in the production planning field
- Knowledge of CATIA models, Unigraphics NX, and MRP systems a plus. Some familiarity with Microsoft Suite (word, excel, access)
- Must be able to remain at workstation for extended periods of time
- Accommodation as required for reading computer screens and documentation
- Normal office environment. Maybe required to enter the assembly/production area and wear appropriate PPE as required
- The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws
