materials manager

Manufacturer in Ormond Beach, Florida is seeking a Materials Manager with experience in procurement of metals and steel. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience and at least 3-5 years of experience in purchasing in manufacturing and production preferred. Bachelor's degree required. Responsibilities

• Coordinates the purchasing of raw material, components and supplies as required by the Plant.
• Communicates with other disciplines within the Plant including Quality, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Human Resources to ensure alignment to attain scheduled delivery dates.
• Engages in new business reviews as required to assist with the identification and sourcing of materials/tooling.
• Obtain returned goods authorization as needed on any defective goods per procedure.
• Communicates with other disciplines within the Plant including Quality, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Human Resources to ensure alignment to attain scheduled delivery dates.
• Liaises with the Plant Manager and the Controller in regard to expenditures related to the Materials Control Department.
• Implement and maintain supplier controls.
• Works with Engineering on establishing new BOM structures for products.
