Senior Cloud Network Traffic Engineer
Overview
Foundationally, this person must thrive in fast-paced environments and be able to manage through ambiguity and complexity. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, provide escalation to management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints.
For this specific role, we are looking for an experienced engineer that will work towards building a cost-effective Cloud network control and data plane in. This requires the planning and build of traffic engineering and visibility toolsets.
Key responsibilities - Familiarity with cloud native toolsets around traffic engineering, visibility, and traffic flows - Advanced knowledge in AWS (multicloud preferred) network engineering and architecture, as well as automation and security - Provide thought leadership in the cloud networking domain to ensure that systems and services are designed and operating to achieve optimal levels of performance, reliability, security, and sustainability - Ensures security practices and/or security system fundamentals are defined and shared across multiple teams, and communicates with others about these practices - Provides leadership and subject matter expertise to identify solutions for network security gaps and challenges
Qualifications - AWS Advanced Networking Specialty certification - Expert knowledge in cloud networking and cloud native toolsets - Expert knowledge in network fundamentals (BGP, IPv4/IPv6, IPS/IDS, DDoS protection) and cloud network protection - Experience in building and protecting large scale networks (5000 hosts) - Intermediate knowledge of at least one Infrastructure-as-a-Code tool (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) - Experience building and securing high availability applications using cloud native tools (Load balancers, Route 53, WAF, etc.)
