Our client, a global leader in food ingredients manufacturing and distribution, is seeking a hands-on Plant Manager for their facility in the Memphis area. Qualified candidates will have 10 years of well-rounded experience in plant operations within the food, food ingredients, dairy and/or chemical processing industries, and prior experience with capital improvement projects, procurement, lay-out & maintenance of food/beverage manufacturing equipment (pumps, piping systems, heating & cooling systems, etc), P&L and budget responsibilities, and a willingness to be on the plant floor getting their hands dirty. Any exposure to, or at least a basic understanding of fermentation and/or biological/chemical processes related to food or food ingredients is a major plus.

responsibilities:
- Coordinates and leads daily discussions with managers of the plant to ensure that the production schedule is respected according to cost, time, quality and food safety objectives
- Supports overall sales growth by providing stability and flexibility to our customers' demands
- Develops and manages the plant's operational budget to meet expectations
- Oversee the purchasing of raw materials to ensure that vendors meet quality standards.
- Well maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; manage capital assets through acquisition and maintenance
- Actively participates in capital projects and process improvements in collaboration with the NAB Technical Improvement department and/or oversees capital projects led by plant personnel to ensure successful completion of all approved capital projects at the plant
- Establish Key Performance Indicators in all relevant areas and manage performance for achievement. Initiate corrective actions in a timely manner against non-conformity.
- Ensure the timely and effective investigation and resolution of customer issues and/or complaints. Communicate with sales and distribution personnel to meet company objectives in customer satisfaction
- Accompanies plant leaders in problem solving, employee mobilization and the application of the collective agreement (if applicable), within a framework of continuous improvement
- Responsible for successfully maintaining all facility EHS including all required record keeping and reporting. Ensures compliance with occupational health and safety standards
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development. Ensure the day-to-day management of human resources, including the selection and hiring processes of the plant's personnel.
- Ensure employee engagement and development through coaching and training as appropriate. Ensure succession planning throughout the plant
- Represents an agent of change within the plant
- Provides leadership in external communications such as the neighborhood, relevant authorities and our sister plants in the United States and Canada.
